This is the first Hugo winner I read way back before this blog started 10 yar ago. It was written last century and I read it last century yet it keeps cropping up. I also got some of the sequels like Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. I got stuck part way thru that third one and never finished reading it. We went to see the latest incarnation yesterday using my free pass that I was given. There were only six of us in the theatre. It is a better version than the film of 1984. What I do remember about that one is a young Sting playing Feyd-Rautha. There is a part three to this series so maybe I will go back and try Children of Dune again before it comes out but I am not sure if part three will be limited to Dune Messiah. The Dune series is more than a franchise it is an industry like Star Wars. Frank Herbert's son Brian has been churning out books yearly for the last twenty years.

This pristine cover looks nothing like my tattered worn out version |
