I am starting to get some strawbs consistently again. I was wrong about the wormy worms. We have good protection from snails and birds but it seems there is a fruit fly that lays eggs on the surface of the strawberry. It must be a small fly as we have netting with a close weave but not close enough. I noticed some holes on the last two strawbs so I cut down thru them sectioning the tunnel they made. These were more like grubs. It seems when you eat them it just adds to the meal. I'm sure Bear Grills would not think twice about finding ripe strawbs in the bush with or without bugs. I have also added a film from last weeks deep freeze.
