We have to book a curbside collection with the council. This is the first one we had this year but we are now thinking that maybe we don't need to book at all. We had placed a tidy pile of goods out there, a fan, tv set, clothes dryer, two good mattresses and a stack of other stuff. The neighbours rang us up and asked if they could add to the pile. In the end the neighbours had the largest part of the pile, everything else was taken before the council came along. So assuming that whoever takes it, is recycling it by fixing and selling or getting out the scrap metal then maybe the council is not required, although they did get the mattresses picked up.

We have one more bed and mattress for the salvos and then we have an empty garage.
