Medical Update

The head wound is coming along swimmingly. That is I went down to the water and did another two laps of the running/wading type of exercise. When I was there a three legged dog came up to me with its owner trailing behind. I was going to ask if he called it tripod but I thought better of it. Just as well, as this guy is dog sensitive. He bought a kids bicycle trolley for the dog so he could pull it along. The dogs leg was ripped clean off when it got caught in trailer.  When I got back they left a steaming present for me near our front door.

Album 7

These albums are not as old so are a bit easier to handle and the pages are staying in a reasonable condition after I have been handling them for scanning.  This one covers the period Jan 92 to Dec 93. The outdoor activity is increasing as kids are getting older.  Some of these excursion include walks around Mt Beauty, a trip into NSW and canoeing on the Murray River.

Beach Exercise

I have been trialing a beach exercise routine. Today we started with one lap of the water wading/ running activity.  Then we jogged back to the start along the shoreline. After a rest I got the original snorkel set with the face mask and this time and did a swimming lap also finishing with a jog along the shore back to the start.  All the while I have to manage the hole in my head and the other hole in the nether regions.  This second one has turned very black and blue.

There was a lady sitting nearby, turns out she bought a house 6 months before us just up the road in No 10 Caravel. Seems it is quite big with 6 bedrooms and they do have sea views from the second floor.

Cruise Watch

I have been hanging out for our first view of a cruise ship.  I spied one this morning and got all excited about it sliding past our front door.  It looked smaller but then it is probably the smaller ones that are going to get to Geelong. I got some video going and some zoom photos and the ship line came up as Wellard.  Then I could see the ship name as Ocean Drover.  These aren't names I have heard of in the cruising world.  All I can say is those cows seem to be travelling in comfort and the sheep at the back looked all very kosher.  Turns out this livestock carrier is up for sale, so if you need a lot of beef moved it will take 18,000 cattle or 75,000 sheep.

Stamp Grouch

The ongoing stamp sort is still happening and continuing the funny currency theme I found one from Turkey, more correctly from the Ottoman Empire, which cost 5 grouch.  The stamp came out in 1926 and has been overstamped in an attempt to revalue its cost as 2½ lira  (Turkish Lira).  It's value today is the grand sum of 89c.  You don't get rich with a stamp collection unless you are the Stamp Traveller.

Water Wading

I was previously doing some swimming thereby getting the head wound doused in salt water.  However with the sore sack I tried some water wading and did two laps today, so I guess that's one groin between two groynes.  The usual barkers eggs were being deposited but were being picked up as well.  One father had an issue of some sort so he left his son behind on the shore and choofed off on the sea doo.

Album 6

This album covers the period Oct 90 to Dec 91.  There are the usual birthdays and backyard parties complete with slippy slide but there is also a venturing further out with three kids in tow such as Wangaratta and more snow at Mt Baw Baw.  Also this period saw the start of the Moonee Ponds craft market where numerous family members got involved.
