It's hard to know why you would want to burn books but I guess you needed to be around in 1933 when it was happening. This book does not have a lot of action, its more about getting the point across that we do not want to burn books. It follows three time lines for three characters, 1933, 1936 and 1944 and the story jumps from one to the other and back again. I have been to Bebel square where this happened. The books were sourced from libraries across the road at the University. There is a window set into the floor of the square now. It looks like a disused library down there with empty shelves but with enough space for missing books. Those students!
