Jules Verne might have something to say about that seeing his story was written in 1865 and this one in 1901. How did two men get to the Moon in 1901? Using Cavorite of course, which was an anti-gravity invention that allowed a sphere coated in the stuff to float to the Moon. I have continued working thru this compilation and have started another story. HG Wells mentions Jules Verne in his introduction, saying that Verne concentrated on the possible, which mostly always came true, like boats underneath the sea, where as he always went impossible, like invisible men. This one was made into a film in 1964 but I don't remember ever watching it.
