The Panther
Last month I lugged a tub of books to the Op Shop and I grabbed one book off the shelf as I was heading out. Didn't pay it any attention but it turns out this one is all set in Yemen and it also talks a lot about Aden which is where the post card was taken that I featured last month as well. This book does not paint a good picture of it for tourists with the turban terrors running around. In the end the wisecracking secret agent who brought his wife along made it out alive. It was easier to read with its larger text but that means you are carrying a brick around for a week.

Exercise Garage
I needed a pandemic excuse to make a start cleaning out and reorganising the garage. It seems to me that only two years into our lifestyle here that you shouldn't need to be cleaning out the garage already. This is mainly to get a space for some exercising. We already had a carpet square and a pole for weights so what else is needed. Maybe a few mirrors, a TV and a bicycle machine. We have not used any of our annual rubbish collection appointments as yet so the council will come and take away our modest pile for us. We just need two more hooks for bicycles on the wall.

Puzzled
I mentioned a week back about dragging out some old puzzles and I found one and completed it within that week. It was bought in 2000 in a large merchandise tent at the Sydney Olympics. I have added another topic to my growing stamp interest list which is any stamp depicting the Melbourne or Sydney Olympics. Now that I finished that puzzle I went looking for another one. There in a cupboard was a 2000 piece puzzle still in its original wrapping showing a world map from 1650. Next problem, I don't have a table big enough.

Forehead Update
I'm sitting here at my perch and I can see pieces of lemon tree disappearing from view and some erratic swinging of the brush cutter. There was a lemon tree overhanging our fence back at Essendon, and I remember James from time to time reaching in and plucking a lemon for the fish and chips. Anyway there was no report of the vicious one inch spikes that I have just encountered. In my haste to volunteer for the very top of the branch lopping, I was not prepared for the tree to fight back. I now have gouge marks on already sensitive skin. Ouch.

Sun Deck
The weather contrast here is huge. It can blow and take the roof off down the way but then it gets so calm you can hear the talk from 200 metres. The word back from the Doc's is that Debbie has bone density issues ie she is not as dense as she needs to be. Three serves of dairy per day is the golden rule which has not been happening. There is also stepping up the weight bearing exercise. On the diet front we have found cheese wrapped in prosciutto.

Forehead Ho
I can't manage any more skin dissolving cream. I got to 19 days which was yesterday but now I have ceased the application of it. I had already stopped a week back for the area around the cheeks and nose. It has become a pinkish area and no longer shedding dead bits but now that will start above the eyes and at the back. The treatment now is just covering the whole lot with moisturiser .

Beach Report
We had a very windy storm three days back which made it into the local papers here. Some houses were damaged and a caravan completely rolled and smashed. We saw it for ourselves on our last ride with some houses on the hilltop at Curlewis having tarpaulins on the roofs now. The Sun has come out so I went to check the damage on the beach. The tide was out and a red tinge is in the water, almost tannin like. The beach now has a gouge line all the way along and there is a 10 metre swathe of sea grass where sand used to be. I dare say it will smooth out and the grass will disperse but it will take a while. At least the diversion works held up.
