Still RAT Tests

What to do while waiting for tests.  The agenda today was Williamstown to pascoe vale then gowanbrae then Williamstown again and now Werribee before Clifton Springs.  Phew. The new equipment at Nana Beryls has been unpacked. Now we are checking out another nursing home. Asher will sleep for hours after her ride to the park.

Library reading

Estelle walked to the shops and had a baby cino. This was after she downed a snack of grapes and pancakes. We wandered across to the library for the reading session however she was more interested in the buckles on her harness.  She is completely sleepified so should be out for 90 minutes.  Now it is our turn to snooze.

Just enough chairs

We had to get the beach chairs out but we did have enough.  We had the kids eating at 5:00pm but the rest of us were still full of cake and sausage rolls.  A short walk to the playground helped however a cool breeze did not, especially if for coughs and colds.  The oven has had the clock set so we can use it now and the lasagne and sauasge rolls were a winner.  Estelle is the best eater around. If you want to get her attention just say that dinner is ready and she is all yours.  As for Asher she did well with a bit of a bug in her system still.  The two great grandmas sat and absorbed it all.  James had to have a birthday song without candles but Estelle did not seem to notice they weren't there when they were blown out. If you get my drift.

Williamstown Fathers Day

There are a few Fathers coming today and we have not hosted any kind of gathering here as yet.  We have some grass out the back that we have ignored since moving in.  It was rather long and needed some cutting.  Debbie has ideas about replacing it with carpet style greenery but in the mean time we brought the trimmer.  This reminds me about the time I mowed the grass in Brisbane using a push type mower as it is about the same amount of grass. Now I am not doing that again, hence the trimmer which if you wave it around enough you will get a cutting action or more a hacking of grass.  The Karcher was also put to use to clean some brick paving out the front so the outside is cleared and now we have to see if there are enough chairs (which there aren't) and also if we can turn the oven on now that the clock is set (which they set on the wrong time).  Just been informed that the gardeners here will mow our grass for us. Hooray.

Stamp Drawing

I had another go at drawing a stamp design. This one is from an engraving by Georg Vischer. He was a cartographer in the 17th century, so if its good enough for him its good enough for me.  Those Austrians even put their cartographers on stamps.  This is Kollmitz Castle about mid way between Salzburg and Vienna.  I spent some time in Salzburg but did not go as far as Vienna.  The maps and engravings he did, were the best records of life at the time.

Weighty Wait

The first Friday of the month is weight reporting day and another kilo has disappeared somewhere off the body.  Bearing in mind there was a bit of eating going on up at FNQ during the month but also some walking to try and balance it out.  This weight total has now lowered itself to the same point I reached 15 yar ago when I did a similar weight loss game.  Also Winter has finished now so it is almost ice cream season but maybe I just have too increase the exercise. Maybe I will keep this going one more month to break thru the 87kg barrier which I have not been at since some time last century.

Curious Bouys

We have been here for five years now and there always seems to be something new out on the water. Two guys in a boat were rattling around at the very end of the groyne.  One was in the water and the other was trying to keep the boat in touch with the rock wall. What I did not notice about 30 metres away is that the yellow bouy was gone, however they had it up against the rocks.   About 10 mins later they had it reattached and was towing it back to it's spot.  I have been out to this particular bouy and there is a certain amount of growth on the underside, being barnacles, mussels and other plant stuff.  I figured it must have come off its mooring line but no, they zoomed 300 metres to the next bouy, unhitched it and towed it across to the next groyne down yonder.  So it seems to be some sort of bouy maintenance. Council rates at work.
