Mr Tulk

Had another ride into the State Library.  This time I was trying to get into the map room but it is not available at the weekends.  I wanted to see some of the  MMBW 1:2500 series that I drew back in the  80s as the Library seems to be custodian of at least a microfiche copy. Not sure where the originals are.  Sorry,  they are not on site anyway, we would have to bring those in from storage.  We did get to peruse the 4th level displays and add some pieces to the jigsaw puzzle.  We also ate lunch at Mr Tulk's cafe.

From Mr Tulk's Tower

If you make a rowdy racket
You can't hide among the jackets
To avoid the icy glare of Mr Tulk

If your reading is a slow rate
You'll wish you were illiterate
Under the focused laser eyes of Mr Tulk

Though the books are stacked in piles
And you try hiding in the aisles
There's no way around the guiles of Mr Tulk

From the tiered central tower
And emanating on the hour
Is the searing look of power from Mr Tulk

So don't come there for the thrills
Or you'll get the look that kills
That's the crazy hazy chill from Mr Tulk

Attack of the Rhoids

I don't mean asteroids.  I spent years at Brooklyn Pumping Station. We had a Poo Punishment Procedure (PPP) that sent them on the way to the Farm. Difficult cases were given the Turd Taming Tool (TTT). But they can fight back and I have the pain in the arse to prove it. So be ever vigilant like the two sewerage workers down on the Farm. They were working on the banks of East 115 Lagoon when a brown bobbing borrie broke free.  The turd said to them knowingly "Why don't you come in? The water is fine."  They looked at each other and one said  "Can you believe this shit?"

Getting the Treatment

We went down to the farm for a unique art show which was a bus tour around to 7 sites within the Western Treatment Plant (previously "the Farm").  The "Art Works" were orchestrated by Deakin Uni  and consisted of a footy match from the 1940's "Herefords" footy team and the half time address in the historic change sheds. These are the exact same rooms that I used in the 1970's when I played for the Survey team in the MMBW league when we got to the Grand Final. We also visited the Water Tower,  The Daleks  (Poo Beaters) and the Cocoroc ghost town swimming pool, which had been restored and filled for the occasion.

Only thing in Cocoroc now is the pool

Gov't Present

The Gov't sent me a Poo Kit for my 60th birthday.  How thoughtful. The instructions are complex with the whole operation requiring some skill. They must have known I pushed shit uphill for years when I was working out at Brooklyn Pumping Station.  We had that stuff by the truckload before we sent it on its merry way. The grass is always greener in Werribee.  There is a ghost town down on the "Farm" called Cocoroc. I played footy there years ago and they are trying to revive its heyday through an art show. Stay tuned.
