Garden Update No 399

The regular gardener has taken some time off here so I have spent an hour or so mainly on a cleanup detail although I have been following the drooping lower and lower sag of the the lemon tree.  We have not had any lemons placed out the front all Winter.  Do lemon trees ever stop sprouting fruit?  There was another problem as well, in that the abundance of fruit has attracted the pesky possums again as there are half eaten lemons nicely positioned near the fence.  We have not seen this behaviour this year.  The cleanup also adds to my steps tally for the day being another 1200 steps in that hour.  The lemon tray has been placed in its most favourable position out front, so we will see how many customers there are.  The final surprise, or maybe I have forgotten, is that there is one late orchid spike, still not opened, near the courtyard door. These pots have been moved a few times and the orchid man says if you move them it will be a year before the plant gets used to the new location.
