It has taken a few days but I can now see bike races live on the TV again. We had the Chromecast working previously for the Disney Channel and was quite straightforward. However this bicycle stuff is being more interactive. You just can't watch the race. They want you to type in as you go. I would be interested in some of this stuff like being able to bring up the route and see where the race is on the course. There are other stats you can ask for etc etc. So you need a smarter device like a tablet between you and the TV. So the ingredients are as follows, the Chromecast device, the Android tablet, the GCN+ app on the tablet, The Google Home app on the same tablet, a common WIFI network, a Google account and a GCN+ account plus its subscription. The GCN+ is going at half price right now being $33 for a year. Of course this is no replacement for the whole Eurosport channel just the cycling part, to do that you need the Eurosport app which is not currently available in Australia but may be possible via a VPN which you can set to fool the app into thinking you are in Europe. The race in the kitchen bench is being cast to the TV on the wall. |
