SES

We have had a few dramas here previously, a kayak and a missing kayaker, a boat setting off a distress flare, other capsizings.  We noticed one of our neighbours getting a bit animated on the phone near the beach ramp.  Mental note to ask her what's that about?  We drive off to get our flu and Covid shots for this year.  Is it just me or are the length of those needles getting bigger?  We get back from that and there are two ambulances and four SES vehicles parked just down the way.  And within a minute a man is being wheeled up the ramp on a gurney.  Debbie spies a jogger coming thru as well, so bails her up for some nosey questions.  She did not know exactly the problem but it was not too serious given the slow pace as we chatted for another 20 mins and the ambos were still there with the patient in the back. In the meantime the jogger is a fitness lady in her fifties, running her own fitness business and when she got stopped by Debbie, she was dripping wet because she went for a swim fully clothed before runnning back up the ramp. She lives around the corner and is often spied running thru here.

I know you get a bill for the ambulance but is there also a charge for the SES ?
