I am never sure when public holidays are on these days, especially one's entitled King's Birthday. It was meant to be a rest day but we got the bikes out early and end up going for 21km. There were many bikes, walkers and swimmers along the way. Willie beach must have had 50 people in the water while at Altona there were only a couple of swimmers but many bikers. We stopped at the beach cafe where there is only outdoor seating, the same as at Williamstown. The main Altona shops are back from the beach so we took the bikes in, looking for a letter box. It is your typical village type atmosphere, with around two blocks of shops up against the train station. Everything you need.
