I am still re-digitising the vast slide collection ranging from 1960 to 1987. I only have a few containers to do but I have plucked out the photo below from Port Campbell. I remember this place vividly and it was located just out of Port Campbell. It is a series of steps cut by a local fisherman so he could get easy access to the ledge below. The photo was taken in 1971 and about 40 yar later Debbie and I went looking for these steps again. I new roughly where it was and began combing the area but we could not find it after an hours searching. We went back to town and talked to the publican, he sent us over to the National Parks Office. They had deemed it dangerous and had blown the top section away then back filled it with dirt and rock so it was completly disguised. I am glad we did not spend more than an hour looking for it. Nanny state strikes again.

This is at the top of a straight stair well looking down. The walls rise vertically as you walk down so you would put your hands on the walls like a railing. |
