I have mentioned having the wind whistle around the house in this location and having to be on the lookout for it all the time, so when this book came under notice I had to give it a go. It is two volumes of short stories by Usrsula K LeGuin, some of which have won the Hugo in the short story category. I may have to follow up on the short story category when I finally gather in all the Hugo book titles. The book's title comes from a poem by A E Housman published in 1896. In the poem, The Wind gives you a chance to ask it a question, mine would be, Why blow so hard?
From far, from eve and morning
And yon twelve-winded sky,
The stuff of life to knit me
Blew hither; here am I.
Now -- for breath I tarry
Nor yet disperse apart--
Take my hand quick and tell me,
What have you in your heart.
Speak now, and I will answer;
How shall I help you, say;
Ere to the wind's twelve quarters
I take my endless way.
