I have to make room for the expanding Hugo list that I am accumulating here, so I took a box of books down to the lifeline shop in Drysdale, although I did buy a $1 book while I was there. In the meantime I have finished yet another Hugo called Redshirts. I am not sure if I ever noticed this but if you were wearing a redshirt in a Star Trek episode then you were marked to be killed off. This book is about a band of lesser lights that served on a space ship where a lot of the crew were dying. A hint about this book could be gleaned from an old Bugs Bunny cartoon where Daffy Duck was being put into impossible situations and he was going a bit Daffy about it. And in the end the camera panned back and it was Bugs who was playing the cartoonist and was drawing that little black duck in all the crazy scenarios.
