Rainbow's End

This is one of your more recent Hugo winners from 2006 and is trying to predict the world as viewed thru devices that are available now, such as spectacles with embedded imagery, wearable computing power like cameras sown into the fabric using flexible printed circuitry. So you walk around with images in front of you that enhance your surroundings. It has been done in films before and I saw an add this morning for a film called Free Guy which turns it around a bit as he is in the virtual world trying to get out.  One theme in the book is the destroying of old documents after they have been digitised so you can save space and put them online for everyone. This is exactly what happened to our title deed back in Essendon.  Original thick vellum paper with the whole history of the property and it was shredded.  I would have kept it if I was allowed.
