I have never heard of Diarrhoea being a symptom of COVID before now but for some reason I suddenly have to get a homestyle COVID test going before the third shot and this is happening 10 minutes before the jab. Now it took us weeks to find this packet of tests and I didn't want to waste one becuase of watery poo. However when we read the instructions it takes 15 minutes to get the result and we only have 10. The chemist says it will be next month before the next free appointment so that's it we left the test on the bench with five minutes still to wait but the first 10 minutes showed it was negative. In the end I think we got the Moderna shot this time around.

I feel Weak
There's no use sugar coating this, that was a night to forget. Both of us getting up to run to the toilet. We had a toilet each. And this morning I have continued with some nasty work in the upstairs one. For some reason I gave Debbie a 15 hour head start and then at 7:00pm last night it started for me. I have to drag myself around with slow shuffling steps, as walking is hard at the moment. Attached to this problem is a bout of heart burn, so whatever we ate, we did a good job of upsetting the body clock. Tomorrow we are supposed to get our third COVID shot so we have until then to clear this all up.

Boosters
Our last shot was 5 months ago today. My next mistake was waiting til today to book the Boost. Mind you we generally have a policy of ignoring as much of the crap as possible and trying to just get the essentials at the right time. Ha fat chance. My next mistake was looking for Astrazeneca Booster appointments. The usual places we have been going for injections, did not have those and they would not answer the phone. Eventually I got onto a local chemist that said Australia does not use the Astrazeneca so you will have to pick another one. Maybe Debbie can have Pfizer and I will get Moderna. I have to wait another month now to get in at this chemist.

Virgin lounge calm
We are having lunch in the lounge and everything is calm. I could mention how Evie's test result seems to be slower than the rest of us. I could mention how Debbie's phone broke this morning at the critical time of obtaining more test results. So we filled out the forms and lied about getting the results. On the drive to Melbourne the Samsung man got the phone going again but we could see results on her watch. Also the Respite nurse rang up to say a covid positive person visited the home Nana Beryl was meant to go to today, so it was shut down indefinitely and so we spent an hour reorganising a new move to Caulfield. No Phasements. We did get in one hours visit though.

The 1km three hour drive
Somebody remind me never to do this again, as that is four hours I will never get back. We left at 12:30 and it is now 4:40pm. What a slow crawl it was to get this COVID test done. We found out today that the 5 day Test has now been cancelled as a bad joke. The QLD Govt could not properly organise it, as it was taking up to 6 hours and noone from QLD was checking the results. We were hoping the entry test would also be dropped as well but that review is Jan 1, two days after we get there. Evie should get a medal as she spent the entire four hours entertaining us and being entertained. Right now she is being driven around and around the block until she wakes up. Katrina Rowntree was in the queue ahead of us and was firmly told no favouritism.

Yes We have no bananas
We are not currently in official lockdown but ... I went to the supermarket and we have always had shortages of late which everyone has been putting up with. There is no panic buying or hoarding of items however the fruit and veg was really depleted and for the first time there were no bananas. It was a shopping trip during the afternoon on a Saturday so a better strategy would be earlier in the morning and mid week. We haven't been too fussed before now but someone else got the last banana. Roll on 80%. We need more people in QLD bending more bananas!

First Test
Yesterday we were reading the list of Tier 2 sites popping up around Drysdale and following the trail of the previous infector. It turns out that I was in the same Coles on the same day as the infector, last weekend. I missed them by a few hours but as we were going through the list, my nose started running. Later I got the sore head and the scratchy throat. I had been warding off the CATARRH!! for over a week now. I booked in for a COVID test this morning and the staff there were dumbfounded and even surprised that I had not had a test before now. There is something going around here as the queue was out into the street. And don't get behind a family of six who all have their own mobile phones and insist that each individual get their own result. I guess a 40 minute wait is not too bad but maybe the drive thru testing service has that McDonald's approach of getting them on their way.

Tier 2
We have not had a case in Clifton Springs for the two years of this thing until yesterday. The goofball on the Geelong radio said that as a result of the three cases , Lorne is now Tier 1, and both Herne Hill and Clifton Springs are both Tier 2 but look up the details on Barwon Health. So we did that and he has got it completely wrong, whole suburbs and towns did not get those ratings, only the business in Lorne got it, so all the visitors and workers there, have to isolate for two weeks, not us nor do we need to get tests done. The infected house here is under isolation but that's it. I listened again an hour later and he had watered down his view of it completely, probably after some critical feedback. But this thing does seem to be getting closer. Which house is it?

My Gov
There seem to be more reasons lately to be getting involved with the Government website. This is the best place to get proof of the injections we have been taking and I have printed out my copy which I might start carrying around. There is talk of a COVID passport and I know google are looking into it. I don't have to pay much tax lately but the amounts I do pay are no longer notified by mail, I have to read a message in MyGov and also pay it up in there as well. I also notice there is a mathematically generated receipt showing a breakdown of where my money was spent by the Gov. A few bullets here, a pensioner there. Another thing which no one else seems to have that I can find, is a list of future vaccinations that I have to get. Such as Zoster. Good thing I'm not anti vax.

Astra Swedish Zeneca British
These guys have only been around 20 years or so and do a lot of their research at Cambridge University. We went to the Bellarine Respiratory Centre today for our COVID jab No 1. This place was transformed 18 months ago by COVID testing with queues down the street and marquee style tents to cope with the demand. This time was no different, same queues same marquee but they were dispensing the medicine in an assembly line type of set up where we stopped at four different points along the line. The whole thing took no longer than 30 minutes. So far no side effects.

COVID cancellation
The QLD premier has increased her list of hotspots to include Geelong and the Bellarine and backdated it to boot. This means Debbie is not travelling tomorrow and now we have to undo everything again. We have multiple flying credits already and are losing track of them. We checked the exclusions after the latest out break and greater Melbourne did not include us but with this backdated trick we are now included so no travel to QLD for now. Doesn't the premier know baby time is coming! We have lost our money on the Airbnb but maybe there is a discount next time.
