Heat Blast

It is a 50kmh Northerly heat shocker right now and the temperature at 43℃.  Good thing I took Evie to the playground this morning. She has improved heaps in the climbing  activities.  There was steady progress across all the nets and ropes as well as getting to the highpoint against the far pole. Getting down seemed trickier but managed to do it.  Outside I have battened down everything.  The wind is strong here during Winter but it seems worse when it is a hot blast. We have already heard that fires have started.  I wonder if plane flights will be grounded as Evie is meant to be joining Mummy today.

Two Activities

Full time Grand Parenting is a tricky business. Two major activities are required for the day, each split by lunch. We were talking trains the other day and I knew where there were tracks but no trains. Now this seemed to make no sense to this lot, so major activity No 1 was solved.  There were hazards like spiky bushes, a bullant nest and nasty pointy grass seeds but we avoided most of them and walked the tracks. The nearby playground got most attention with a wheel of cockies spinning over our heads.

Chrismata Dentata

This bizarre medico infused Christmas continues where I have gotten the dentist to put down his eggnog so as to swap his deck chair for his dentist chair. Hopefully it is worth it as I cannot feel anything much two hours later.  I called into Barwon Heads where the playground there is going off beside the river. The whole thing was about Estelle's idea of a Ferris Wheel ride to mark the occasion however it was not opening up until midday so filling in at the playground for an hour was a good option.  I tried to drink my coffee with a straight face but no matter what I did it stayed lopsided. I headed back here for some short time off (Ferris had a whole day off) while the grandies were going around with Ferris.

Evie climbs the rope

They have a very handy playground just out side the back door here and complete with a huge shadecloth covering the whole thing.  We got Evie out there for a short session on the swings and slides however the Sun had angled its way onto the smaller slide making it hot. So Evie climbed the rope ladder for the big kids slide. She is getting on with things fast.  We are getting back to our room here about 7:30pm and could almost start the sleep right then. Half the trouble is our room is bright and white at 5:30am but it does have its own pool.

Wet

The rain has been steady all day so more time for online activity. The card school has been growing and it may be possible to get two games going at some stage. The players are now spread across Victoria, NSW and Queensland. At least it is the same time zone for now. We usually have a Grand Final gathering here but that wont be happening this time. There is debate about Geelong wanting to play the Grand Final. Weird if the game were to be played here but no one could make it to our house. Who knows what type of restrictions will be on for October 24.

How Low can you go?

I would say I spent around 5 hours yesterday either on the floor or in about a knee high position. There is no way around it, although I did get a cramp in my back at one stage and then Asher gave it a three second rub. After that it was straight back to the play activities.  No time to waste.  I have edited some play dough action. These were brand new containers of the stuff, but the gist of what you do with them was already apparent.
