Coast Watch

It was calm and sunny so I went across for a beach walk pickup session. I think this afternoon is supposed to get ugly.  The beach was fairly clean. I got a few butts, plastics and rope pieces but I also got yet another corncob. This had to be the 4th or 5th one this Summer and I could not work out why they would be washing up. Two guys saw me picking up stuff and they were carrying a small pail of water from the creek. They were most impressed and come there every month for water sampling. They have regular beach gatherings focusing on different aspects but I said I was happy enough doing my own thing. They did suggest the corn cobs maybe some sort of fish bait technique.  As they went off one kicked the ground and said don't forget this piece of steel.  A rusty chunk of steel now that's heavy.

also found a toy car to add to the collection
