Innocents Within

This is the true story of Andre Trocme a pastor who organised a network of shelters for Jewish refugees in France during WWII. The story has some aerial dog fight action and the downed pilots love interest as well. The Gestapo was on Trocme's trail and although often close they never actually caught up with him.  He returned after the war and lived on until 1971. The Israelis awarded him their highest medal.
