I have been to her tea rooms and I have been to her house in Bath, I have even posed in front of her floral clock but I had never read one of her books. I was browsing through the book shelf here and I found a pristine condition paperback of Pride and Prejudice. I can't remember where it came from but I read it and it is a fairly boring book, about boring people who have nothing to do all day except mull over what the other person thinks. This is the opening line "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." And it goes down hill from there.
