Paladin of Souls

The Hugos started out as SciFi only but in 1992 it was changed to include fantasy.  Lois McMaster Bujold is firmly in the fantasy camp and must know her stuff as she has won the award four times.  This book is a sequel and I seem to get caught out by this a lot. As you are reading thru there are references to a previous story.  The heroine here has the power to separate demons from their possessed hosts.
