One Bid Auction

I haven't done too much stamping lately but a couple of cold days inside means there is some time for stamps.  As it turns out there was an auction yesterday and one lot there had a stamp I have been chasing for some years. The 'wont sell unless we get this much amount' was $500 for this particular album.  It is quality and all Australian so I put in the bid and there were no other bidders. Maybe they were on holidays. Previously I have missed the mark at this auction as you can only put in an email bid but this time I got the hammer drop, sold to the guy who is not here.

The Fifth Season

I went to the eye doc today for a checkup and is always an expensive business, like $1000 for new lenses put into my existing frame.  I will be on the old glasses for a week so it's a good thing I finished this book yesterday as I will be a little hazy with these old ones.  This book is No1 of a trilogy and unlike previously, I have all three of them, as for the first time ever, each of the three books won the hugo three years running, being 2016, 2017 and 2018.  There are all manner of inhabitants of this planet but they live at the whims of the tectonics becuase the climate is always being hit by volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis. However some powerful characters can control the energy in the ground to cause or stop these catastrophies.

Beach Inspection No 235

The storms cut a swathe thru the beach again. It is a neat cut with a fan of sand out into the bay so should be easy enough to drag it all back and fill in the hole.   We did a thorough scan of the ground for small rubbish items, mostly cigarette butts (20). There was also a dog poo bag, some bottles, pieces of rope, bottle tops and lots of small plastic. There was a coolish breeze and a chance of rain so it was a good hall without dilly dallying too long.

There are some disgusting items in here

Asher washes up

We got to Asher's house around 11:00am. It was cooler in the morning with some some spotty rain. One of the Christmas items was the Big Barbie Bus so that kept us going for an hour or so up until lunch. After a sleep it was onto the deck outside. Another Christmas item was the perfectly useable pumping sink. This required a long session of use featured in the video.  We did not get on the road til 6:15pm and have now taken to using the Westgate to get back because of road works on the ring road. We will continue to use this route as it is shorter and traffic flowed the whole way.

Bay Floor

I have added yesterdays'video (much shortened). We took a different path to get back to our camp as the floor was more cleared now than in previous years and the visibilty was still good. It's never as good as your own eye balls as the gopro can be a bit fish eyed.  Some of the shells out there are uge.

It's off for another Asher day today. I need to prepare with a long lie down.  I have had no Spam messages attaching to yesterday's  post so the problem has gone away.

Calm Snorkel

I had Diver Dan with me yesterday for our snorkel and there were all sorts of dives and porpoising going on but the camera failed and I have no video to report.  Debbie and I went back again this arvo in exceptionally calm conditions with sunshine penetrating deeply.  I have turned on the video again but will have to wait to see if it worked. No rays today but a few larger fish were seen out deeper.  The huge schools were around the rocks but the fish are small and were happy to swim around us.  I received six spam comment messages overnight so I will monitor what happens to this post. I deleted one and marked the others as spam. I will have to see if there is a blocking option.

This is the new floor mat with the latest and greatest sand sifting, sieving and sluicing option. It works well and is truly sandless floor.

Asher Water Baby

I stubbed my toe a week ago and it seems every day since I have been soaking it in sea water for hours at a time but really was much less. Yet it is a messy look. I have now got the trusty mercurochrome onto it.  We got Asher over to the beach this afternoon and you can see she is much more confident than last time. Happily going on her own to the water for bucket filling and stepping thru the sea grass to get back.  Daniel and I had a snorkel without seeing too many fish but the clarity was good.
