Riding not sliding

Got out on the bike at around 9:30 this morning.  There is a bit of mud around especially near the rail trail at the Drysdale station. It looks like the upgrades on the train works are full steam ahead which means the bike trail is blocked, as the extra tracks will cover it. Not sure what that means for the trail after the upgrade, hopefully a new alignment.  The other new bike track has now opened along Griggs Creek but it is mostly empty housing lots.  Once these and other existing estates are built out there is meant to be no more new housing estates on the Bellarine Peninsula according to the distinctive areas and landscapes program that has been declared here.

Asher hits the Road

It is a coolish windy day so it was good to get two lots of bedsheets out there. If we ever go into airbnb at least I will know what to do about changing the beds. In the meantime I can also look into the weekends video collection which was mostly Asher antics. There are some Estelle moments when she can get a look in.

Cousins on the floor

The wind has really picked up here so there was no going out the door with any small people.  This is where the Disney+ channel comes in handy. We started the Luca film last night and finished it this morning. Very handy for some quiet time after the cars session.  The cars are a winner. The car play started as a circuit, then got bigger and bigger to a town then a city then got bigger again into a megalopolis.  These cars are 30 yar old and have had a second coming.  Most of them still go but are battered beyond secondhand. Estelle and Evie will be driving them next.

Note to Self:  I must remember where the stickys are before the next visit.

Asher plants one on

We have visitors today and nothing like some organised mayhem just the way we like it. Asher has a routine already here and straight away it was 'Let's get the cars out' except I could not remember where they were. So for the next 10mins it was a case of 'Pa is tricking me' until I could really remember where I had put them. Then Estelle came down. Well that was a game changer with all attention diverted over her way for at least another 10 minutes.   In the mean time I found the cars. Whew!

Kestrel Waters

I previously showed some film of the new kestrel that lives nearby. Last time it was trying to drink out of puddles on the road but now it has found one of our bird baths.  We drove over to the old haunt at Collendina for the 5 o'clockers although we had to get a lift from the gate only because the rain was starting.  I had forgotten how cold it can get in a caravan. There did not seem to be a lot of people around even though it was school holidays.

Beach Detail

We are having an extended sunny break maybe five days in a row now so I went down to the beach with my rubbish bag in hand.  I timed it for low tide as the line of seagrass will hold anything washed up.  Things can still be left behind or dropped in Winter as it is school holidays. There was one family group playing in the shallows and sure enough I picked up some kids underwear that they left behind. As for the tide line I found a fork and numerous plastics.  There was also a rectangle of some type of insulation which I found again and again at intervals. It seems to be all from the one piece but peeled off in layers.  Overall this was a good haul.

The Masked Recliner

Some times you just can't go passed the local pub when you are on the lookout for a luncheon. We had short notice as Ross and Franster had escaped from Melbourne so we went to lunch at the Drysdale pub. They had half meals on the menu so we each had a half parma which was just the right size and tasty as well.  The last place we went to was Mr Grubb and was not up to standard.  Fifty metres down the road was the Artisans gallery for coffee and Debbie went straight into her art class afterward. How convenient.
