No such COVID here

The only place you have to wear a mask is at the airport in Brisbane, however half did not have them on. This morning we  wake up to a sea of pink. There are many signs on the shop floors about spacing but they are never used and this morning proved it with thousands of people lining up for a Fun Run.  There is one rule (none) for QLD and other rules for the rest of us.  We continued the walk along the river and then came back for our poached eggs.  We are still looking to hire some bikes but will have to wait til the pink has dispersed.

Evie sleeps thru

Sleeping, eating and excreting, they are the three things Evie has been doing.  Maybe you could add umbilicus extractus today eg her belly button cleared out to reveal an inny.  We did shopping jobs today at the Toombul shopping centre. As well, we booked a second hotel also with a pool in NorthGate only a five minute drive from Nundah. Debbie will use Laura's car for that second week so no more Ubers. Debbie did some  pizzas for tea, although we had a stack of Sushi for lunch.

Morning Gym Session

Saturday, Sunday and Monday means no early morning meetings, time zones or customers. We used the gym here for 30 minutes on the biking and walking machines. We had the pool to ourselves as well so finished off with a swim. Our breakfasts have been English muffins with poached eggs.  We need to locate some new accommodation for next week so will check out Nundah Village and will either meet there for lunch or we will walk to their place.

Evie takes a bath

The Evie show started around 1:30pm today eg when we got there.  Today the fridge got cleaned out, the pantry was also cleaned out and Luna was taken for a walk, all while Evie was fed about six times. She has been weighed again and has regained her birth weight of 3.1 kg as well as growing by 1cm. She has a big appetite for a little girl.

Here comes the Sun

The Sun has broken thru for at least a day. It seems there are some mega storms off the coast but they have gone away for now.  The meetings finished around 11:00am so we went across for a swim in the Lagoon.  Before that I found the other Woollies which has a greater range of stuff. I got two egg and lettuce sandwiches and a couple of drinks.  We found a shady tree on the sand which was very idyllic. The city backdrop is impressive from this spot.

Evie makes a noise

I heard Evie  make a noise, only a squawk but it's a start. The man who evented the Snoo also has a white noise machine.  It was tried last night when Evie was a bit fidgety and she went to sleep. The sound is more like loud static which would be the last thing you want to hear but it did work.  Today's jobs included mowing the lawns with a hand push mower. I thought these had gone to museums and very physical it was too.

The Lagoon

I went across the way to the Lagoon which is a huge pool complex.  It was raining again and totally deserted and also getting  some maintenance via a large vacuum cleaner. So I turned around and went back to the hotel pool.  This was also empty. I tried the spa as well. It was well heated and you would not want it on a hot day.  I was doing this while the first meeting of the day was in progress.  We keep getting thrown by the one hour difference. It is better if I get out of the room when the cameras are running.  The Rydges hotel next door is brand new and they all have balconies. I am putting that one on my list.  We have done a check on the Uber/Taxi/Car hire  question.  The Ubers are around $28 (to the city at night) and the Taxis $35 (from the city during the day). There are two trips per day to/from  Nundah, so say $60 per day.  We should be well ahead by not hiring a car. ($40 per day just to park.)
