Gym No 6

I think it is around six sessions I have had now in the Willie gym. This time on a Friday afternoon at 1:30pm, I had it to myself, as is often the case.  I did the same combination as last time with 30 minutes on the bike machine, followed by 10 minutes on the rowing machine, with some recovery at the end of each one.  I have been gradually stepping up the "effort" level.  I set it to six which is half way to the maximum of twelve.  This level was tougher with four equal hills between four low points.  I also went into the pool for 10 minutes of slow laps, but only 6 or 7 strokes per lap. Followed up by 10 minutes in the spa tub area. I have heard some people complaining about the temperature but it seems plenty warm enough for me.

Kite Surfer Not

One of the things you do not see too often here are surfers. But when the wind is up there are a few who have tried sail boards and this guy got out his kite to see if he could catch a few waves.  I saw him with some pace heading off shore but when I got back on deck with the video rolling he just went down. Not sure if the harness broke or a rope broke but all he could do was hold the kite above his head and let the wind wash him back to shore. It was a good try but he never got back out there from what I could see.

Transaction Disputes

We have spied some extra amounts being paid on our VISA card last month. There were four totally different amounts all under $50 dollars in a space of 10 days.  The company that charged us is called GetNomad who sell a travel SIM card. Now we have had a lot of travel in our time but have never bought a local SIM card, generally preferring to pay extra to use our phones on a roaming phone rate.  Some times bills take a while to catch up but our last travel was the Solomon Islands five months ago.  The ANZ are investigating and have refunded one of the amounts.  It seems to me that these small amounts can go under your radar and could keep going for a long period if you weren't watching. The main question is how did they get the card information? Most likely it was from another company we have bought something off.  Most of the time I try to use PayPal for all internet buying but not all shops offer that option.

We now have a new card

Three Bags Full

A calm day means I can go and revisit the carnage on the beach. I should have brought spare bags.  The jogging lady was there and she is fit as well as running a fitness business. She jogged thru at 8:30am and just had to come back with some rubbish bags. I got there at 10:00am. So she was hard at it, squelching deep in grass, for well over an hour and filled three large bags with stuff.  I only brought my trusty single reusable bag and filled it in 10 minutes.  "I can't leave until its clear" she says but I said I would finish it.  I said it but I did not define finish. I went back and changed into shorts and got some bags. These were too big but I spent 30 mins filling one however the bending and squelching was getting to me so I left it at that.  That's my execise for today, not to forget getting it up to the bin with two large jerry cans as well.

Stamp Day No 3572

I have not seen anyone outside today.  It is a cold mean wind. Even the garbos have seemingly called off  emptying the bins.  They are normally racketing passed at 7:00am and now it is 2:00pm.  Only one thing can be done today and that is to get out a few stamps.  There is a stamp auction this week and I have studied the catalogue from cover to cover as there are hundreds of lots of all descriptions. I have put in two bids however this auction is not an online one, so you just have to wait til you are told of success or not. I have seen this frigate bird a few times on different stamps.

Sunday Roast

It has been a while since the last Sunday Roast but that just means when it comes around its even better.  We tried pork with the crackling in the air fryer and it worked well. The meat cracked up just nicely.  For some reason Kaia is a voracious meat eater.  She must be putting on a growth spurt and a lot of veggies went down as well.  A short walk to the lookout was enough for Asher and Kaia, as the wind was still blowing but we did walk off a big lunch.

Pies are a peeling

It's apple pie day.  You have to sing for your supper around here or in this case peel for your pie. The grandies will be here soon so I am squeezing this post in before the fun starts. Whenever you are sitting in front of a computer screen Asher calls it 'doing some work'. The wind is still blowing so I don't think we will be going to any playgrounds.  They are retreating from the Collendina wind as it is.
