We have two fruit trees that are two years old now. The tree with the most fruit but least attention is the nectarine tree. The apricots came first and had that flawless shape, colour and taste. The nectarines are plentiful, they are the wierdest shapes and birds are pecking them before they ripen. Our neighbour cut down his nectarine tree, said it was 'a mess not worth having'. These fruits range from bright green to bright red and can ripen and soften on the window sill. We had a few testers on the sill and they did soften but they look bitter green. There is one only that looks promising in the batch they we just picked before the rain came. It does have a small bird hole in it.
