When we first moved here the white stone garden beds were replaced with tan bark which is a rich darker finely chopped variety. This it seems is ideal for the Minor birds to endlessly pick at in the search for grubs, bugs and larger prey like Bilbys, when you see the size of the mess left on the paths. There was more bark on the ground than in the bed and as soon as it is cleaned up, if you turn away for a second they are back pawing the ground. Victory can now be declared. Debbie has been at wits end in the Minor battle but has newly spread a pebble framework at the edges and for the last week there has not been any displaced tan bark on the ground. She would not acknowledge the win for at least a week, constantly prowling the paths and wanted to observe the birds reaction. I think they are still picking it over a bit but have been forced closer to the fence.
