Eragon

 I took this book to Brisbane with me last week and it has taken this long to get it read with all the goings on. It is a multi volume story that Laura left behind when she moved to QLD so now I have gotten around to reading it. It is one of those Game of Thrones type stories and I bet this author read the first of those to get a few ideas, eg dragons hatching from eggs but also here we have shadeslayers rather than kingslayers.  Still it is a good effort for a teenager straight out of school.  It helps if you have parents that own a book publishing company. I remember there was a guy at the MMBW who used to play footy for Collingwood.  As an after footy option he wrote a book, but publishers said he had no established name as a writer and refused to publish it.   It is a good thing I have volume two of this story because there is no pausing here. Volume two starts in the exact scene left standing in Vol one.  As usual with a bit of success this has now spanned out to 5 volumes, the last three of which I do not have.
