Stabilisation

I did some playing around with software 'video stabilisation' today. The current video camera I have been using is way more stable than the previous one, due to its lighter weight. EG media cards now being used rather than the heavier hard drive built into the last camera.  Even though the video is more acceptable I tried the stabilisation on a walking section of film.  These comparison samples have one clip set to maximum antishake.  I think there is an improvement. A lot of time would be needed to go back and treat previous films. The best results would no doubt come from the older less stable video cameras. I did redo the entire Piz Nair film from our recent walk in Switzerland, identifying areas for stabilisation. This exercise took over two hours.
