I have been watching the mussel boat in the beds all week. I knew they were stocking up for the festival. I have been to this before. I do not need to go a third time. I can go and buy mussels anytime I want. Mr Mussel's truck is down there every time I get on the ferry. It has taken me a while but I don't need to do things when everyone else has to because they are visiting. I can bide my time. Having said that the mussels we ate were really good and the calamari was so soft, it was melt in the mouth. Also we smuggled in our own alcohol so all in all we did it all as well as you could.

Yeah, not sure if it's worth it now. Ridiculous queues even by Portarlington standards. Anna and I stood in a queue for about 10-15 mins only to be told as we were about to order that they weren't taking any more orders! Obvsiously it's becoming very well known now so maybe we'll just wait until the crowd leaves and get freshly cooked mussels!
