Pool Time

There are holiday rules like the nophasement rule. No matter what the problem work your way thru it without losing it. This was put to the test and still is with refurbishments requiring room changes and pool closures. yadayada.  Another rule is try to get back to the pool by mid afternoon and this pool is a doozey. The lagoon pool has been our venue for two days whilst the horizon pool has reopened today but does not seem to have as much shade.

pool supplies always in demand

Beach Pool

A pool with a beach is a rare thing and if it has a swimup bar as well like this one does then this would have to be the best pool I have been in. I struggled to swim to the end and back. It has got to be over 100 metres to go around the island as well. Getting the air con right over night is a challenge but we have a week to figure it out. We met Brother Brian last night and returned to the Fisherman's wharf for you guessed it, seafood.

Pool Routine

One of the recovery methods we thought we would get into is pool swimming. Debbie has tried two pools during this trip and the benefits of using a breathing tube have been a revelation. We have a new pool here which opened last year however it is closing down again to get the indoor pool constructed. We may also try using floatation as part of this. Getting used to the chlorine may be another issue as it was very strong in the Caloundra pool.

Chores Galores

Yes we have another list of tasks that all need doing with at least two volunteers.  Why did we take the banana to the doctor? ....... because he wasn't peeling well.  We seem to be tossing out bananas lately as they are ripening quicker than we can eat them.  So get grandies to make banana bread. Simples! Also messy.  We did have all the ingredients and they got to lick the bowl. While it was cooking the pool needed attention.  Firstly scoop out some leaves, empty out the water, wipe it all down and refill.  Now with grandies helping these steps need to be spelled out.  It was good timing too, since the banana bread was ready after the pool had filled and they were ready for a sit down.  Now to work out this afternoon's activity.

Pool Duty

We heard that Estelle was coming and the pool was looking very smudgey.  It is not a quick operation to empty it, clean it out then dry it out.  The nifty lounge matresses underneath are taking a beating but still look ok.  They needed a squeeze and as much hang time in the Sun as possible.

Soap Pool

It probably wasn't a good idea to get soap in the pool and we will remember that for next time. It was the bubble blowers that started as bubbles but then got emptied into the pool. A brown very slippery scum soon coated the bottom of the pool. At first we were scooping it with a mop but most likely were getting some and moving the rest.  So the pool has been drained and up ended. We will let everything dry and start again. Good thing there are no water restrictions at the moment. We may have access to a pool filter that is not in use due to cats clawing holes in another pool.  What a catastrophe.
