Dog Park

You may as well call the dog park the pregnancy park as half the women there were pregnant, not to mention the frisky  dogs.  There is a lot of energy expended and they are all fenced in.  Back at the airport this morning you can only sit in the lounge on every third seat but when you get on the plane every seat is in use. Go figure.  Laura and Rick are looking good and we are having an early Christmas Dinner complete with trifle.  Luna the dog has not got used to us but things will change in the  Lunaverse.

Other People's Poo

Managed to get another half dozen pictures on the wall today. The mountain of frames never seems to lessen and the available wall space never fills up.  Got over to the beach after the working day ended around 3:30pm. This time I went for a proper swim (with face mask and flippers) for about 200 metres.  I haven't managed anything like that since last summer. On the way back we took care of a nice packet of poo which had been bagged up and seemingly left just for us. There were no dog walkers anywhere so who else was gonna do it?

Sandridge - No Go Dog Zone

Sandridge Beach behind the Surf Life Saving used to be a fairly quiet spot, but the dogs today were driving us a bit dog eared.  Particularly when the council has declared it a dog free zone.  We confronted a woman whose greyhound was running amok, interfering with families, the usual stuff. When it came at us, I slapped it with my thong. The woman just yelled that it was a dog beach and the dogs were allowed to run. I am going to take the below map with me next time not that it will do much good. I have emailed the council asking for "No Dogs Allowed" signs to be put up.

World's biggest Dog Bath

I saw a dog have a crazy moment. It was spooked, probably sniffed the wrong dog or something and was running through the underbrush dragging the table it was attached to.  The cafĂ© owner was chasing it, the dog owner was chasing it and passer byes were adding to the may hem. Some time later how do you think this dog owner was going to get the grass seeds out of its bum? Why don't I wash it in the swimming pool.  I was just about to jump in when I took the photo. I believe I have footage of the dragging table incident but that will have to wait.

Dog Nappier

At the behest of other dog owners I was urged to show this picture. So I can't really lump all dog owners in the one category.  I really couldn't decide if this was a good thing or a bad thing.  I can see why you wouldn't want dog crap all over the boat deck. Its confined, there are kids etc. Do Great Big Danes produce Great Big Turds? It seems so from these preparations. This is no throw away item complete with velcro fastened sides.  Why does it have to be pink?  I think doggy brown would be an obvious colour.  Does this go in the washing machine? Do they come with doggy liners? So many questions.

A lasting Image

Dog owners are entertaining. Some are always bitching about their dog (haha) or at the other extreme we saw a woman today wiping the dogs' arse. Now I applaud the dog owner who carries the dogs shit in a bag with them for the next five km's but wiping its arse has got to be going to far. And the studious removal of the sticky stuff from the overly long hair around the area .. anyway you get the picture.
