The Golden Gate

I read a  lot of Alistair Maclean  and was right into it when this came out in 1976.  I have got San Francisco on my list but haven't managed to get there yet.  This one is not a whodunit but more in the vein of a Die Hard style, where an army of thugs take over a bridge not a building.  This one never got to be a film.
