Jason Bourne Again

More of the same. They chase him, he kills them and runs off the grid again. Robert Ludlum only wrote three stories ie the Bourne Trilogy. However since he died in 2001 there have been another 10 books appearing on the shelves. How is this so?  Someone else decides to keep writing them.  Can't they think of there own characters.
